Queen Cox

Eating, Cooking, Juice, Cider

Aromatic

Description:

The Queen Cox apple is believed to have stemmed from a naturally occurring bud-sport of the original Cox’s Orange Pippin in the UK.  It has the same aromatic flavour as it’s parentage yet grows to be slightly larger and has improved colouration.  This varietal is good for eating, cooking, and is readily used for making cider.  Challenge to grow.  Harvest mid-season.  Light cropper.  Poor disease resistance.  Zone hardiness: 5.
